What does Cash book mean?
Every movement gets a voucher (a cash receipt or payment voucher), and after the daily close the cash report shows the balance.
The details of handling cash are set in the company's cash-handling policy; work it out with your accountant.
Why does it matter to a small business?
Wherever cash changes hands, the till must always match the record, and every difference needs an explanation. In a small business the cash book often lives in a notebook or a spreadsheet, where a later correction disappears without a trace. A tidy record saves the accountant work too, and shows what happened if anyone checks.
What does it look like in practice?

Suppose a florist in Kaposvár sells at the till during the day, and a business customer pays an invoice in cash. When the till is closed, the day's takings and the counted difference are booked into the cash book by themselves, and so is the invoice payment. In the evening the owner closes the day, and nobody can rewrite a closed day afterwards.
