What does Lead mean?
Someone becomes a lead by filling in a website form, signing up for a newsletter or calling with a question. A lead is not yet a customer: the job is to find out whether there is a real intention to buy.
Leads are worth tagging by source and following up quickly: an enquiry left waiting rarely becomes a sale.
Why does it matter to a small business?
A small business cannot afford to let the money and effort spent on advertising or referrals disappear into an unanswered message. When leads arrive in one place, you can see where most enquiries come from, who is handling them and which ones have had no reply. Attention then goes to the people most likely to buy.
What does it look like in practice?
Details
Suppose a solar panel installer in Debrecen has a quote request form on its website. On Tuesday evening someone fills it in, asking for a quote for a family house. The form creates a contact with the status lead, and if the company has an assignment rota, it goes to the next colleague in line, who sees it on Wednesday morning and calls before noon.
How does HelloCRM handle it?
Details
In HelloCRM a contact's status is lead, prospect, customer or inactive. Website forms, shop orders and lead ads create contacts on their own, and an assignment rota (round robin) can hand them to colleagues.
Module: Forms (paid module, price coming soon).
